This project, completed for a homeowner in CaistorMarket Rasenshowcases our commitment to quality components, professional installation and maximising the return on investment for local residents.

Our Customer’s Solar Installation Objectives

This residential project in Caistor, near Market Rasen, was commissioned by a homeowner looking to reduce reliance on grid electricity while maintaining the clean, modern appearance of their property. With a south‑facing roof offering excellent solar potential, the challenge was to design a system that balanced performance, aesthetics and long‑term reliability.

The homeowner in Caistor wanted a comprehensive solar panel installation that addressed several key priorities:

Solar panel installation on house roof in Caistor

  1. High Performance: Maximise the energy generated from their south-facing roof to cover daily electricity use.
  2. Aesthetics: Ensure the system was visually discreet, complementing the home’s dark roof tiles and overall curb appeal.
  3. Energy Security: Incorporate battery storage to achieve a high level of self-sufficiency, reducing reliance on expensive grid power, especially during peak times.
  4. Minimal Disruption: Ensure the installation process was clean, efficient, and minimised internal intrusion.

The Bespoke Lincs Renewables System Design

Our design for this property focused on optimising both energy output and visual integration:

Component Specification Benefit
Solar Array 12 x 405W All-Black Panels (4.86kWp Total High Efficiency panels designed for maximum absorption and a sleek, uniform aesthetic.
Mounting System All-Black Railing System Eliminates reflective aluminium rails, ensuring the system seamlessly blends with the roofline.
Panel Location South Elevation Ideal orientation for consistent, high-yield generation throughout the day.
Inverter 1 x 5kW Hybrid Inverter Industry-leading hybrid inverter capable of managing solar input, grid connection, and battery charging/discharging simultaneously.
Battery Storage 3 x 5kWh SunSynk Batteries (15kWh Total) Generous storage capacity, allowing the homeowner to capture virtually all excess solar energy for evening use.

Following an initial consultation and detailed survey, our installers fitted a 4.86kWp solar PV system using 12 all‑black panels paired with a 5kW hybrid inverter and 15kWh of battery storage. The choice of all‑black panels and matching mounting rails ensured the system blended seamlessly with the property’s existing dark roof tiles, maintaining kerb appeal while delivering strong generation.

Battery storage was a key component of the design. By capturing excess daytime generation, the homeowner is able to use stored energy during the evening and overnight, significantly reducing reliance on peak‑rate grid electricity and increasing overall self‑consumption.

Technical Excellence in Installation

Installation quality was a major focus. Cables were routed discreetly through the loft space and into the garage, avoiding disruption to living areas. A new armoured supply cable was installed directly from the meter to the garage, providing a secure and compliant power supply for the inverter and battery system.

Our certified team executed the installation with precision, paying close attention to both electrical standards and homeowner convenience. Here is a breakdown of our installation:

  • Aesthetic Integration: The all-black panels and rails were installed on the south elevation, achieving a modern, low-profile look that enhances the property’s value.
  • Optimised Cable Route: We ran a dedicated black 6mm 4-core PV ultra cable cleanly from the loft space to the separate garage, ensuring internal living areas remained untouched by the primary wiring route.
  • Secure Power Supply: A new, high-capacity 10mm SWA (Steel Wire Armoured) supply cable was installed directly from the property’s main meter cut-out to the garage. This robust connection ensures the SunSynk inverter and batteries receive a secure and compliant power feed for maximum performance.
  • Centralised Storage: By mounting the 5kW SunSynk inverter and the 15kWh battery bank neatly within the garage, we kept the system tidy, accessible for future maintenance, and safely housed away from the main living space.

The Results

Solar Panel Battery at HomeThe Caistor homeowner is now benefiting from a high-performance system designed for the long term. They are generating clean energy throughout the day, using the stored energy in the evenings, and significantly reducing their electricity bills.

This installation proves that achieving energy independence and reducing carbon footprint doesn’t mean compromising the look of your home. It’s a smart investment that delivers immediate savings and adds substantial value to the property.

Importantly, it also highlights how residential solar can be both visually discreet and highly effective when designed with care and installed by experienced professionals.
